Leaf & Debris Clean-up
The Spring and Fall seasons are especially busy for our Turf Managers with the accumulation of leaves on lawn surfaces. A thick layer of leaves blocks sunlight, reducing turf growth because of the shading effect. The leaves also trap and hold moisture in the turf canopy, increasing the potential for turf disease.
We offer several different options for leaf management.
Early fall we recommend mulching the leaves into the turf as chopping up deciduous leaves as part of a regular mowing schedule is an effective means of managing these leaves without harming the turf. Infact, university studies show that mulching the leaves is a very positive and economical process for your soil and turf. Other means of disposal include blowing, raking, vacuuming and in some cases shredding the leaves back into planting beds or compost bins. We are available for regular maintenance services or one time cleanups of leaves November - February.

5 Brothers Lawn Care provides soil sampling, analysis and recommendations for new and established landscapes. Analysis includes all major and minor nutrients, pH and organic matter content.
Soil quality and structure are too often overlooked leading to less then desirable growth of landscape plants. New construction leaves the landscape stripped of most or all topsoil where the lawn and plantings struggle to survive. These can later lead to more serious problems such as soil erosion and damage to structures/property.
Services include providing amendment incorporation, finish grading and/or sod installation. Our approach begins with a detailed analysis in order to supply the optimum soil amendment such as compost, manure, gypsum, bark fines, peat moss, potash etc. combinations and different topsoil blends. This with our recommended maintenance program will yield a healthy professional look to your landscape.
